Welcome to Otter
Otter is a readable programming language for useful programs, from small scripts to interactive web applications. Readable like English. Precise like code.
Otter programs use everyday words and indentation instead of punctuation-heavy syntax, without giving up deterministic programming-language behavior.

Words express meaning directly: and, minus, times, divided by, is at least, is greater than. Blocks are finished with a period. Properties are read with everyday prepositions, such as name of developer.

age is 20
if age is at least 18

The period has exactly one structural meaning in Otter: it finishes a block or process. It is never used for property access.
What Otter does today
Variables and readable arithmetic, conditions and loops, lists, functions, objects, file operations that are safe by default, CSV and JSON, command-line arguments, safe web downloads, TCP/UDP/TLS networking, cryptography, and compilation of programs into standalone web applications.
Otter runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 using Windows PowerShell 5.1, which is already installed, and on macOS and Linux with PowerShell 7.
